THE WALL
Before you came into my life, I was cool as cool
could be
I could not love, I could not care, the world was dead to me
I couldn't cry at funerals, at weddings or at birth
Emotions were not known to me upon this cold cruel Earth
I'd built a wall around myself, a wall without a door
I sealed the cracks and safe from hurt, I'd live forever more
But then you came into my life and melted down the wall
With warmth of such intensity, a loving fireball.
You showed me how to love again, and though it took some time
I learned to care and trust again, a feeling so sublime.
A flowers bloom, a kitten's mew, a sunset on the beach
Bring beautiful emotions down to Earth within my reach.
And thanks to you, my loving wife, I learned to cry again.
Tears of joy, not tears of pain, I'm happy once again.
